My art show at Chocolat Vitale in Seattle's Phinney neighborhood opened this evening (well, Friday :D) and it went pretty darn well! Loads of nice people to talk to, a live DJ with some keen old records, refreshments for all, and some people even bought some of my stuff already, apparently! :o

Here are two of the four walls they put my stuff on (I had a lot of stuff =o):

Nahh this is just a funky neighborhood place--those uptown places are super ritzy! =o

Golly Ben, who pays for the frames, look nifty. Just wild about Brubeck.

My dad! =o They're *relatively* inexpensive ones that come in kits you mix and match for various sizes and put together yourself, but still yeah frames aren't cheap, and then there's still the glass and the matting (he cuts them himself!) to worry about! And he's the one who goes around and gets me into these shows in the first place, so he's pretty much the one who makes it all happen. :)

The DJ wasn't playing Brubeck on this occasion, but I did get to enjoy the album cover, at least. :)

Agreed! Uptown, indeed! o_o

You're probably one of the only web cartoonists who can cross into the gallery realm. :)

Yeah, I guess I'm lucky that I've stuck with this sorta artsy fartsy style all this time. They did have some nice stuff at a big webcomic art exhibition at the University of Washington's big fancy art gallery recently, though--I didn't make it in but the curator was nice enough to write me and say that a bunch of my readers voted for my comic to be in it. :)

Ben, if your Dad has some free time, send him up to me.

:D I have no control over him! If there are coffee and chocolate shops in your area he will probably get there eventually. :o
