The South Atlantic Anomaly

image
(seen there in X-rays)

is the shifting area in the southern hemisphere where the inner Van Allen radiation belt comes closest to the Earth; spacecraft orbiting through the Anomaly often need extra shielding (like the International Space Station), or just switch off sensitive components while passing through it (Hubble).

So you've just solved what happened to that
Air France flight that went down about there.
Not only that, but you have saved thousands of lives for future flights. A Nobel medal is at hand Ben.
