Vertebrate eyes have a blind spot, where the optic nerve comes out through the retina. Your brain hides it, but you can see it if you look carefully.

Octopi do not have this problem.

Oh hm! Actually it's a nautilus, but good point! I should have said that cephalopods in general do not have the blind spot problem--but I have a weakness for the word "octopi." ;)
